Food Trucks at Universal Studios
A silly little blog about the food trucks at South Weddington Park, and sometimes stuff about Pugs.
Indian
street food. Frankies (rolled up roti with your choice of lamb,
chicken, beef, shrimp, paneer or mushroom and cheese; all with cilantro
tamarind chutney and onions), curries served over
rice, samosas, masala fries, and naan.
Reuben, Rachel, and pastrami sandwiches. A variety of melts (tuna
salad, turkey patties, cheddar cheese and grilled onions), along with
soups, salads, and desserts.
Thai
street favorites like Pad Thai, garlic pepper pork,
basil beef, egg rolls, crab rangoon, Thai iced tea and
fried rice. If you like spicy, go for the basil beef -
WOW!
Not your average sushi truck. Hawaiian version of
Japanese sashimi. Bite-sized
pieces of raw fish doused in seasonings. I've
had the "burrito" with the spicy tuna and crab
- YUM! Basically a sushi roll the size
of a burrito, made with soy/rice paper
instead of sea weed.
Grass-fed
mini burgers. Hormone and steroid free.
Lower in saturated fats and higher in beta
carotene, vitamin E, Omega 3s, calcium, magnesium
and potassium than regular corn-fed beef. Better
for you AND the planet. Plus, they taste great! Try the rosemary & garlic fries too!

Lean
protein, slow-digesting carbs and veggies. Plate lunches
with 4, 6 or 8 oz. of meat, 1 scoop of carbs (white or brown rice, or
mashed sweet potato and broccoli). Daily specials as well.

Visionary cuisine. Bacon burgers, pork belly, garlic shrimp, or kung
pao chicken tacos, beef, chicken, or chick pea sliders, bacon brie
grilled cheese, broccoli salad, and truffle popcorn.
Toasted classic gourmet sandwiches infused with Asian and
Spanish flavors. Yes, they have a 4-cheese
Grilled Cheese sandwich and a toasted PB&J. My personal fave is the curry chicken BLT.
