A silly little blog about the food trucks at South Weddington Park, and sometimes stuff about Pugs.
7 oz. burgers in lots of unique combinations. Burgers with blue cheese, sausage gravy, bacon, cream cheese, pineapple and PB&J, just to name a few. I love the one with the blue cheese and cranberry gastrique (though I'm not exactly sure what "gastrique" means).
First time at Uni! Soft serve ice cream in cones, cups, shakes, or malts. Also serving floats, slushees, cappuccino mocha lattes and soft pretzels.
On Friday when I left, I noticed that in addition to Ta Bom, the Dim Sum truck was there as well. I don't know why, but they never seem to give me a "heads up" when they'll be stopping by. I got some cheeseburger dumplings to enjoy at home. I hope they return and let me know ahead of time.
Unable to add picture for some reason. Anyway, really good caramelized pecans. Also available covered in milk, dark or white chocolate. They have Bavarian almonds too.
Note about yesterday: Patty Wagon was supposed to be here, but they changed their schedule and didn't tell me. Apologies to all who showed up looking for them.
Streets of Thailand, usually here every Thursday, has private gigs lined up for this week and next. They'll be back on 6/9.
Great selection of yummy sandwiches. Some with prosciutto, portobello mushrooms, flank steak, bacon, chicken and sausage. Regular sandwiches or paninis. They've even got a classic grilled cheese.
Great sandwiches and salads, and the nutella crepe is one of my faves. I always go for the Corsican sandwich, though the Croque Monsieur and Little Frenchie are good too. They don't come here very often, so get them while you can!

I never even knew there were white pugs until I saw this. SO cute!
No time for photos or descriptions as I got into the office late. I had to put down my 16-year-old pug Gretel this morning. She was suffering from liver problems. She was obviously in pain so I relieved her suffering.
R.I.P sweet Gretel. I'll see you again someday.
The blog won't let me add a picture. D'oh! This truck is a fusion of Mediterranean and Latin. Tikkeh beef, chicken or tofu put into tacos, burritos and quesadillas.
7 oz. unique burgers. A co-worker and I split the "Behemoth", made with grilled cheese sandwiches as the buns. Awesome! The "Molly Hatchet" with the bacon, maple and gravy is good too. I haven't had a chance to try any of the others yet, but they all sound incredible.
This truck won "The Great Food Truck" race on the Food Network.
Chicken strips, wings and boneless chicken balls. And not "balls" as in Rocky Mountain Oysters; "balls" like boneless chicken meat shaped into balls. Get your minds out of the gutter!
I tried this last week; my first time ever having shave ice. It was really good! I got the "Planet of the Grapes" combo, but they have TONS of flavors to choose from, including something called "Tiger's Blood" which has been around a lot longer than Charlie Sheen.
These are REALLY good tacos. I love the Taco Dorado con Carne. Shredded beef, cheese, lettuce and tomato in a crispy shell with some slightly spicy sauce. I've heard all the other tacos are good as well.

Did you know that Sesame Street's Elmo likes Taco Bell?
I normally don't care for falafels because I'm not a fan of garbanzo beans, but this truck made me actually like them. If you feel the same way about falafels, you should give this truck a try. It definitely changed my mind. They also offer chicken sandwiches made with kabob meat for you non-vegetarians.
